The classic Maltese bus, a much modified and loved veteran from the 1950's 60's and 70's has made it's last trip. In July 2011 they were replaced by their modern counterparts, which although more comfortable and reliable will not be the source of pleasure to tourists and bus enthusiasts that these old fellows are. On the other hand, the locals that depend on them for day to day transport may have a slightly less misty-eyed view !
